A playroom can be the best classroom

Project Khel works with children between the ages of 8 and 18, including underprivileged children and school going children in low income schools, and offer age-appropriate and customised activities in the playground that are playful, fun and approachable which act as a safe learning space for children to open up and express themselves freely. They emphasise the importance of gender and their facilitators create gender neutrality and inclusivity in these activities. They work with play in the literal sense of playground and playing, where they can help create expressive and imaginative realities for the children.

Why they are the right choice for others:

  • Work to facilitate the play space between children with a focus on gender, to help children overcome natural resistances and go past division into an integrated environment
  • Bringing the space of play to children in a focused and facilitated manner with a focus on safety and expression, to help children grow into their sense of selves
  • Working with boys to reduce gender friction
