Sahjeevan has worked at the environment/development interface in Kutch for the past three decades. It currently focusses its work on pastoralism and grassland restoration, working in Gujarat and, through CfP, nationally.

What excites us about their work:

• Work on the preservation of traditional ecological practices with close attention to the the interface of livelihood and sustainability through work with local communities.
• Help sustain the life and practices of oft-neglected nomadic pastoral communities in an underdeveloped region of the country by a focus on their needs through breeding, livestock management and the crafts.
• A key focus on ecological resilience for communities in the face of the slow the disappearance of traditional knowledge.
• Building key bridges between neglected communities and governance through civic interventions and policy.
