No Voter Left Behind worked during the last general elections to reach out to organisations and leaders who have strong and credible presences at the grassroot levels to help protect constitutional values. They worked with an action plan in which they aggregated inputs from marginalised communities for party manifestos, supported first time voters with registration online and offline, and encourage voter turn out for marginalised communities to help them choose in the interest of their own priorities. The campaign was run by individuals and organisations who wanted to remove the hurdles to voting for ordinary citizens despite the Election Commission by expanding the grassroots level relationship with communities and civil society organisations.
Why are they the right choice for others:
- Using the mandate of the Election Commission to ensure citizen rights by voting to protect constitutional values
- Working in a coalition of civil society, state and citizens to galvanise electoral action
- Educating and supporting citizens to understand their constitutional rights and the importance of voting in a democracy
