IPSMF provides financial and other assistance to organisations that create and distribute public-interest information to the public at large, using digital media, social media, mass media or any other form. Their principle is to support journalism from the various pressures it faces from the government, adveritsers, corporates, and society. To counteract deleterious trends in the media, their work wants to support a free media to create an ecosystem of independent media entities. They hope to support independent editorship which is a lynchpin of visions for publications. Given the ubiquity of digital connectivity and smartphones, they hope to ensure that journalism can reach remote microenvironments that are starved for media.
Why are they the right choice for others:
- Nourishing public debate that is non-partisan and public spirited to influence public debate and challenge and complement mainstream media
- Empowers journalism with democratic rights, and strives to protect these rights as guardian and watchdog
- Works to create public interest content and distribute it as widely as possible to users consuming news on their smartphones, and other digital devices.
- Builds an ecosystem of digital media to create narratives that reach citizens, lawmakers and the government
