Unlearning and learning

The Gender Lab works to empower adolescents and youth to question existing gender narratives through critical and meaningful engagement with their communities. The Gender Lab Fellowship offers leadership skills, self awareness and ‘sisterhood’ through a service learning model. The idea is to amplify the voice and agency of young women by taking them through a self transformative journey. It is a 10 month, full-time, paid fellowship journey for 20-25 year old women from Mumbai & Haryana to work with 13-14 year old adolescent girls in the Avanti Young Women Leadership Programme. This is a part of the Blue Ribbon Initiative.
The Fellowship is for anyone identifying as a woman acros social identities between ages 20 and 25 years, and passionate in understanding gender issues and women’s empowerment. This Fellowship offers young women a learning experience in field work at the grassroots eager to facilitate for 13-14 year old girls in school.

Why are they the right choice for others:

  • Creating an inclusive safe space for young women to build a network to grow in leadership and across cultural locations.
  • Working within the idea of creating collective leadership for systemic change by nurturing leadership through reflection, networks, and building connections.
  • Working across reflections at the level of the individual, collective and society to co-create dialogue and change.
